How do I get to a live person?|||try calling these numbers to reach a yahoo rep|||you don't have that option. to "index" your emails (in Yahoo) all you do is click at the top of whatever column you want it sorted by. Some of you people seem to think that this Outlook or some GREAT email program.

If you have to post it make sure you obscure it from search robots like:

I am trying to show one of my clients where his article has been posted on the web. So I typed in the exact title of his article with quotations around the title to pull up the sites which contain his article.

Of every link I clicked on from this email, it goes to a resolved question. One as long as four years ago.

Why is my search feature in email is not working?

When I try to search in my own email by sender or by topic area, no response is being returned. In a casual review I can see there are numerous emails from the sender or the topic, yet the search returns "no response".|||If this is Yahoo Mail - it's f*cked up at the moment.

when i search my email on facebook, my facebook doesnt show up. it only shows up if im already on the persons friend list. im 17. is it because of my age? i recently changed the email i used for facebook. could it be that?|||you probably have altered your privacy settings this means that you must have set your settings as private by this i mean you have probably selected not to show your email when others try and find you in a facebook search.. all you have to do is go to your page go to account settings then change it.. it should work..if you have changed your email then that means try putting your new email in that might be it if not change the settings on the privacy tool..

|||They're not just upgrading the servers... they're upgrading the Vespa farms. Because the upgrade failed in the past, they're rolling this out slower than they would have. But yes, this is a completely known issue with Yahoo! Mail and I recommend sending them a ticket and having them fix it.

Yahoo has blatantly ignored it, and their long time account fans for over a good year now. This used to be the best feature of their email program, which no other free mail account offered. Yahoo has gone down hill big time for some reason. And on top of it, they have gone into hybernation, rather than deal with the problems. You're lucky now if you can find your way to contacting them-you have to root deeper and deeper through the small print pages. They used to return emails. Now they never return them, unless you are paying them. Nor can you use anymore the "talk live to customer service" unless you are a paying account holder. So they have really found ways to ignore the situation all together, and only deal with who they want to. Which is pretty low considering the hordes of individuals that made them who they are with the free acoounts. They have been saying they are "fixing these problems" forever, and absolutely nothing... This feature loss has cost me so much time/money just trying to find messages. I relied heavily on it.





The best thing anyone can do now if they want to keep their Yahoo account, and not go to a new email program, is to keep making it as public as possible. Blast the company "Yahoo" for who they have really become on major media outlets. Let it be known how terribly they handle their customer service these days... Eventually the media will pick up on it, and do feature story, ripping into them so publically that they'll be forced to either fix the problems, or go under.





Shame it takes that - you'd think they'd simply want to do right by "you" who made them somewhat famous- but that's the way it seems to go these day. Very few companies actually want to do the right thing by their customer/client...|||I too had the same issue but found out the problem is account-specific and can be fixed upon request. I reported the issue to help.yahoo.com (click Mail, type, Contact Us, and Mail Technical Help Form) and they resolved my problem within 2 days. The quick fix helped restore my faith in Yahoo.

|||We can't fix it, Yahoo has been working on it. It has not been working for anyone for a few months. Now the mail is down so I guess it will be awhile before it gets fixed.

In the future you can avoid exposure by providing your email address only to your most trusted friends and associates. If you must publish your email address on a web page or blog, create a small graphic image of the address. This prevents email address harvesters from extracting it.





Also understand that while someone can perform a search on your email address, they still cannot easily access your email account and read your emails. I am assuming this is your meaning when you mention "bits of information".





Check it yourself by doing a search on the email address. What you see in the results is what anyone else will see.

You could try installing the AOL software, and using the profile search function to see if you could learn anything about them, but it probably wouldn't be worth it.





If they are threatening you or something, contact law enforcement. If not, deal with not knowing who they are currently, or find a way to ask them.

Because your girlfriend won't know you search for her email with different computer. So here's the method.





For firefox: press ctrl+shift+del and tick Form%26amp;Search History.


For IE: ctrl+shift+del and tick form data.|||Yeah, that's the solution. Delete all history would work or you can try disable auto completion. Search on google how to do it.

Yahoo's email search returns one recent result. Previously returned multiple results. What is the problem?

This change in results occurred recently and it doesn't matter what computer I am using. Only the last email from a given search might appear and none from emails that may be from say 6 months earlier. How do you email yahoo- I'm having the same problem with email search?

My email search only retrieves the most recent emails|||There are still poblems with the search, Yahoo has been trying to get it fixed. Many are having the same problem.

No such thing as a dedicated email search engine, you could type their names in on google for example though and hope that their email comes up on the same page their name is on (not guaranteed to be your friend in particular though and it's very unlikely they would put their email address online in the first place because they'd be leaving themselves open to receiving spam email).





You're best bet would be to look on facebook or myspace.

Does anyone else have problems with the yahoo email search function?

Mine basically does not work which sucks because I can't find emails now using the search function. Any resolution to this?|||The search feature hasn't been working correctly for the past few months, for some it's sporadic. Yahoo has been notified and said they are trying ot fix it. Why isn't email search looking back longer than 2 months ago?

I am searching for old emails (my premium Yahoo email account is at least 6 yrs old), and yet the results only include emails sent/received within the last two months ONLY. To be clear, in Advanced Search, I select "Date is any". This has only started once the new Yahoo Mail came around. I thought the Yahoo Mail Team would have it solved by now, but it continues.

I’ve had this email for over 8 years and pay for Mail Plus. I’ve also tried before and after dates with no success. I’m using the “Classic” version. I tried switching to the new version but same thing. Search has been goofy over the past number of months but this is not good. I really need this to work.|||Completely agree. The search function within yahoo email has basically become useless. I received no response from yahoo about this two months ago.

|||I did not upgrade and I cannot search my old mail past a few days. It is the main thing I liked Yahoo for is the easy search, now I am disgusted with it.

|||ALSO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM and I'm also paying for upgraded email. I have sent emails to Yahoo without any response or reply. I guess they just want to abandon email searching beyond 30 days or 60 days. If that is the case, then I and all other need to drop Yahoo as their email and move to Gmail or another service. Clearly, Yahoo does not want us to use their service for keeping our emails... Its a shame I used it from their beginning, but now will have to change unless Yahoo gives me access to my old emails that I used to store there by allowing searching. Otherwise, its just not usable at all...

Why is my email search feature not working?

It can not find anything it has been like this for 3 months now. I need to be able to search for my emails. I have stuff like online receipt emails I need to have access to. Also stuff like account info for various services I need to be able to search for those. I have over 700 emails for receipts and account info on accounts for online services and such.
