Why can't I get results from my email search. Is it in the settings and how do I correct this problem?

I need to search my emails in my inbox and no matter what I am searching for I get the same error message.|||The search feature hasn't been working correctly for the past few months. For some it's sporadic. Yahoo said they are trying to fix it, but they didn't say how long it will take.
